Fualefeke
Island Small Funafuti islet with coral shorelines
Fualefeke is a small islet in the lagoon of Funafuti atoll, the administrative centre of Tuvalu. It is one of the many reef islets that form the encircling ring of the atoll.
The islet is typically low, vegetated and without built infrastructure; it forms part of the atoll’s reef and lagoon ecosystem. Visitors or researchers reach it by boat from Funafuti’s main island where most population and services are located.
Like other Funafuti islets, Fualefeke has been used traditionally by local communities for coconuts, fishing and occasional temporary use rather than long-term settlement.
Fualefeke lies within the Funafuti atoll lagoon, off the main inhabited island of Funafuti in central Tuvalu.
- Access: access is by boat from Funafuti's main island; no regular airport service
How to Get to Fualefeke #
