Fregene (Fregenae) on the Lazio coast is reached from Rome's airports (FCO or CIA) or by regional train to Maccarese-Fregene. The most practical last leg is by car, taxi or regional train + short local transfer.
Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO): Rome’s main international airport; from FCO you can take a taxi or rental car to the Fregene/Fregenae coastal area (drive ~25-45 minutes depending on traffic).
Ciampino-G. B. Pastine (CIA): A smaller airport used by low-cost carriers; travel to the Fregene area by taxi or rental car is typically 35-60 minutes depending on traffic. There is no direct scheduled shuttle from Ciampino to Fregene.
Train: The nearest rail access for Fregene/Fregenae is Maccarese-Fregene station (served by regional trains on the Roma-Civitavecchia/Pisa corridor). Regional Trenitalia trains run from Rome stations (Roma Termini or Roma Ostiense) to Maccarese; travel time from Rome is roughly 30-40 minutes on regional services.
