Novi Sad’s Exit Festival began in 2000 as a student-led call for democratic change and has since grown into an internationally recognised multi-genre music festival based in Serbia. The show is centred on the dramatic Petrovaradin Fortress, whose ramparts, tunnels and courtyards host multiple stages.

Expect a mix of big-name international headliners and regional acts across electronic, rock, hip-hop and alternative lineups, with late-night DJ rooms and smaller club-style stages spilling into the nearby city. The atmosphere blends high-energy concerts with the fortress’ historic setting and panoramic river views.

Novi Sad’s Exit runs every July; organisers announce specific dates each year, so check the official schedule as soon as tickets go on sale. The festival is a multi-day event with headline performances concentrated in evening prime time and DJ sets stretching into the small hours.

Peak crowds arrive for the headline nights on the main fortress stage, while daytime and early-evening slots are quieter and good for exploring smaller stages and the fortress site.

The nearest major international airport is Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, Serbia; from there it is roughly a 1 - 1.5 hour drive to Novi Sad by car or shuttle, with regular trains and long-distance buses as alternatives. The festival site is the Petrovaradin Fortress on the east bank of the river; arrive at least a day early to settle accommodation and transfers and book trains or private transfers well in advance.
