How to Get to Estoril
Estoril is best reached from Lisbon Airport with a short taxi or by taking metro/bus into Cais do Sodré and the Cascais suburban train to Estoril. The Cascais line is frequent and the most practical public-transport option.
Humberto Delgado Airport / Lisbon Airport (LIS): Lisbon’s airport is the closest major international gateway. From the airport you can take a taxi direct to Estoril (~25-35 minutes) or use public transport into Lisbon and then the Cascais suburban rail line to Estoril (see Train below).
Other options: Cruise passengers often arrive via Porto or Lisbon and transfer overland to Estoril; there is no airport in Estoril itself.
Train: The Lisbon Cais do Sodré-Cascais suburban rail line serves Estoril; trains run frequently and the trip from Cais do Sodré to Estoril takes about 25-30 minutes. A single fare within the Lisbon transport network is typically around €2-€3 (use the Viva Viagem/ reusable ticket).
Bus: Local buses serve Estoril and link it with neighbouring Cascais and Sintra, but the train is usually faster and more reliable for trips to/from Lisbon.
How to Get Around Estoril #
Estoril is easy to get around on foot along the promenade and in the town centre; the Linha de Cascais train links Estoril to Cascais and Lisbon frequently. Local buses and taxis are also available; a short train ride opens up more restaurants and shops in nearby Cascais.
