Estádio do Morumbi, formally Estádio Cícero Pompeu de Toledo, is a major football stadium in the Morumbi district of São Paulo. It is the principal home ground of São Paulo Futebol Clube and one of Brazil’s best known stadiums.
Construction began in the mid 20th century and the ground was inaugurated in 1960; the venue has hosted domestic and international football matches as well as large concerts. Its current seated capacity is on the order of 60,000 to 70,000 depending on configuration and safety rules.
The stadium occupies a large urban site in the southwest of the city of São Paulo and is served by city transport links and road access.
