Elafonisos

Elafonisos is a small Greek island in the Laconian Gulf off the southeastern Peloponnese, known for its long white-sand beaches and shallow, clear waters. It is a popular summer destination for beachgoers and day-trippers from the nearby mainland.

The island’s principal attraction is the extensive sandy shoreline with shallow bays and dunes that create sheltered swimming areas; the beaches are the main reason people visit. The compact harbour settlement contains accommodation, small shops and tavernas that support tourism, and most arrivals come by a short ferry crossing from the Peloponnese.
