Echternach is easiest to reach via Luxembourg Airport (LUX) and Luxembourg City as the transport hub. From Luxembourg City use the well-connected (and free) regional bus network to reach Echternach in under an hour.
Luxembourg Airport (LUX): Luxembourg’s main airport is the closest commercial airport for Echternach. From LUX take bus line 16 into Luxembourg Gare Centrale (about 20-25 minutes), then change to regional bus services toward the east. Public transport in Luxembourg is free, so the bus portion is free of charge.
Other nearby airports: Trier and Luxembourg’s neighbouring regional airports can be options for some routes but usually require an additional transfer into Luxembourg City before continuing to Echternach.
