How to Get to Dongosaru

Dongosaru (Sonsorol) is one of Palau's remote outer islands and is reached from Koror by boat or special charter - there are no regular commercial flights. Visitors should plan carefully and book transfers well ahead of time.

By Air

Roman Tmetuchl International Airport (ROR): The international gateway for Palau, serving Koror and the nearby states. ROR is the entry point for visitors heading to Sonsorol and Dongosaru, though those outer islands are not served by regular international flights.

No nearby international alternatives: ROR is the practical airport for reaching Koror and arranging onward inter-island travel to remote states.

By Train & Bus

Train: There is no rail service in Palau.

Boat / Inter-island Travel: Sonsorol state (including Dongosaru) is reached only by boat or by sporadic charter services from Koror; these journeys can be long and infrequent and must be arranged with local operators or government services. There are no regular commercial flights to these outer islands, and travel times and prices vary depending on vessel availability and sea conditions.
