Amusement Park Large theme park resort featuring Disney attractions
Disneyland Paris at Marne‑la‑Vallée operates two parks, themed attractions, nightly parades and on‑site hotels; visitors come for rides, family entertainment and seasonal shows.
Disneyland Paris is a large theme park resort located in Marne-la-Vallée, east of Paris. The resort opened in 1992 and includes multiple parks, hotels and entertainment areas designed for family tourism.
The site comprises the original Disneyland Park with its central Sleeping Beauty Castle and themed lands, and the adjacent Walt Disney Studios Park focused on film and production-themed attractions. An entertainment district called Disney Village plus several on-site hotels and parking complete the complex, which is connected to Paris by regular rail and shuttle services.
Originally developed in the late 1980s and opened in April 1992, the resort has expanded and been updated repeatedly to add attractions, shows and seasonal events. The two parks and associated facilities are the main draws for day visitors and multi-day stays.
The resort is sited in the Marne-la-Vallée new town, about 32 kilometres east of Paris central districts, with its own RER and TGV connections.

How to Get to Disneyland Paris #
Take the RER A from central Paris to Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy station (RER A). The station is immediately adjacent to the park gates (a very short walk of under 5 minutes). Many TGV and regional trains also call at Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy.
By car, follow the A4 motorway east from Paris toward Marne-la-Vallée/Disneyland Paris - the resort is about 32 km from central Paris (drive time varies with traffic). There are also airport shuttles and regional buses connecting Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports to the park.
Tips for Visiting Disneyland Paris #
- Arrive right at opening on a weekday outside French school holidays - lines for headliner attractions are shortest in the first 60-90 minutes after park opening.
- Use the Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy train station exit (RER A / TGV) which deposits you immediately by the main entrances; the official Disneyland Paris app and site let you check real-time queues and purchase timed-entry services.
- Start in the most popular land for headline rides (Fantasyland/Frontierland in Disneyland Park or the big attractions in Walt Disney Studios) and save less-crowded areas like Liberty Arcade and Adventureland for late afternoon when queues build up.
- If you want evening shows, stay through dusk - the parades/fireworks draw crowds, but arriving early for a viewing spot along Main Street ensures a clear view and quicker exit routes afterwards.
Best Time to Visit Disneyland Paris #
Best visited in the shoulder seasons (spring or early autumn) on weekdays to balance milder weather and smaller crowds.
