Devínska Kobyla is a wooded hill in the Little Carpathians on the northeastern edge of Bratislava and is the highest point within the city’s administrative area at about 514 metres above sea level. It forms part of a protected natural area with mixed forest, meadows and rocky outcrops.
Trails cross the hill and pass through habitats noted for botanical diversity and some protected species; there are several viewpoints and radar/telecommunications installations near the summit. The ridge is used for hiking and birdwatching and serves as green space on Bratislava’s city fringe.
Devínska Kobyla sits on the northern margin of the Little Carpathians within Bratislava Region, close to the Austria and Czech Republic borders. It overlooks the Danube valley and the surrounding suburban and rural landscape.
