How to Get to Coyhaique

Coyhaique is served by Balmaceda Airport for regional flights; road transfer from the airport to the town is the normal arrival route. There is no passenger rail in the Aysén region - buses, shuttles and private transfers provide inter‑city links.

Balmaceda (BBA): The regional Balmaceda Airport (often called Balmaceda/General Carrera region) is the main air gateway for Coyhaique. Flights (usually via Santiago or regional hubs) land at Balmaceda; from there shared shuttles, private transfers or taxis run the roughly 50-70 km to Coyhaique - transfer time is about 50-75 minutes.
