- Laguna Conguillío: Laguna Conguillío is a scenic lake set against volcanic peaks and lava-scoured shores that is a common start point for hikes and viewpoints within the park.
- Araucaria forests: Extensive stands of ancient Araucaria araucana (monkey puzzle) trees form distinctive forests within the park and are a key natural attraction for visitors.

Tips for Visiting Conguillío National Park #
- Visit in the Southern Hemisphere's spring-summer (roughly November-March) when park roads and trails are most likely to be open and the weather milder for walking to viewpoints around Lago Conguillío and the Llaima area.
- Use the main Lago Conguillío sector as your gateway - most trailheads and visitor information are concentrated there, so it's the best place to orient yourself and pick quieter side trails away from the lakeshore.
- Don't just stay at the lake edge: walk into the araucaria (monkey‑puzzle) groves and up short lookouts for views of the volcano and forest interior - those quieter forest sections are often missed by visitors who remain on the main lakeside paths.
