Island Tiny uninhabited islet with crystalline swimming spots
Off Comino, Cominotto is a tiny uninhabited islet noted for turquoise waters and close snorkeling. Day-trippers arrive by boat from Malta or Comino to swim, snorkel, and inspect limestone coves.
Cominotto is a small, uninhabited islet immediately adjacent to the larger island of Comino in the Maltese archipelago. It is best known for clear turquoise waters and the sheltered bay formed between it and Comino, commonly referred to as part of the Blue Lagoon area.
The islet offers rocky shoreline, sea caves and shallow reefs that attract swimmers and snorkellers; there are no services or buildings and landings are informal. Boats from Malta and Gozo visit the area frequently during the summer months.
Cominotto lies just off the northern/central shore of Comino in the Maltese islands, within easy reach by short boat trip from Gozo or mainland Malta and set in exposed open sea that produces excellent water clarity on calm days.
- No facilities: There are no visitor facilities on the islet - bring water and sun protection and be prepared to swim or use a small skiff to land on rocky shorelines.
- Blue Lagoon access: The channel between Comino and Cominotto forms part of the Blue Lagoon area and is popular for swimming, snorkeling and day trips from Malta and Gozo; expect crowds in summer.
