Colom Island
Island Small Balearic island with beaches and natural habitat
Off Mallorca’s southeast coast, Colom Island is a small islet reached by boat; day‑trippers visit for short walks, beaches and local seabird colonies.
Colom Island (Illa del Colom) is a small uninhabited islet off the southeast coast of Menorca in the Balearic Islands. It is part of the group of coastal islets lying near the port of Mahón (Maó) and is notable for its undeveloped shoreline.
Boat excursions and private trips call at the islet for short stops to view rocky coastlines and sheltered coves. There are small beaches and rocky platforms rather than developed tourist facilities, so visits are brief and usually focused on photography, swimming, or snorkeling from boats.
The islet has not supported permanent urban development and historically has been used intermittently by local fishers and as a navigational landmark for vessels approaching Mahón. There is no known long-term settlement on the islet.
Sited off the southeast coast of Menorca, Colom Island lies close to the approaches to Mahón harbor in the Balearic Islands. The nearest major settlement is Mahón (Maó) on Menorca.
- Access: Reached almost exclusively by private boat or local excursion boats from ports on Menorca; there are no visitor facilities on the islet.
- Visitor note: Small and largely uninhabited, best visited as part of a coastal boat trip from Mahón (Maó).
