Cider Museum

The Cider Museum (Museo de la Sidra) is a museum in Nava, Asturias, Spain dedicated to the region’s cider-making traditions. It opened in 1996 to document and present cider culture and production techniques.

Exhibits explain apple varieties, pressing and fermentation methods, and the social role of cider in Asturias. The museum includes audiovisual presentations, a reconstructed traditional press and a tasting area where visitors can attend guided tastings and see demonstrations of the Asturian pouring technique known as escanciar.

The facility was established as a cultural and educational centre to preserve local cider-making knowledge and to support regional identity and tourism.

Located in the town of Nava in central Asturias, the museum sits in a rural area known for apple orchards, about 30 km southeast of the regional capital Oviedo.
