The Church of St. Panteleimon is a small 12th-century Byzantine Orthodox church near Skopje in North Macedonia, founded around 1164 and noted for its medieval fresco cycle. It stands as an important example of Byzantine ecclesiastical art in the region.
The interior contains a series of 12th-century frescoes that attract interest for their stylistic quality and iconography; the church is compact and visited mainly for these wall paintings rather than for large architectural spaces. Access is generally limited and the site is treated as an historic monument rather than a large tourist complex.
Built in the mid-12th century as a monastery church, it preserves decorative programs from its original construction although it has undergone conservation work over the centuries. The frescoes are the primary surviving decorative element from the original period.
The church sits on the slopes of Mount Vodno near the village of Nerezi, roughly to the southwest of central Skopje in the Grad Skopje area. The location is rural-mountainous compared with the urban core of the city.
