Champagne Beach
Beach White-sand beach on Espiritu Santo, clear waters
A white‑sand beach on Espiritu Santo (Sanma Province), prized for snorkeling, clear water and easy beachfront access from nearby lodgings.
Champagne Beach is a white-sand, shallow-water beach on the northeast coast of Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu, popular with day-trippers and resort visitors. The beach is noted for its fine sand and clear, turquoise water fringed by coral.
The shoreline and nearshore lagoon make it a popular site for swimming, snorkeling and relaxing; many visitors combine a stop here with island tours or boat trips from nearby Luganville. Facilities are basic compared with large resort beaches, with small local vendors and picnic areas rather than large commercial infrastructure.
The beach has been used by locals and visitors for decades and is part of Espiritu Santo’s modern tourist circuit, serving tour operators and independent travelers. Infrastructure to support visitors has developed incrementally to meet day-trip demand.
Geographically it sits on Espiritu Santo’s northeastern shore, a short drive from the town of Luganville, which is the island’s main service center.
- Best time to visit: Best visited in the dry season, typically May through October, when seas are calmer and visibility for snorkeling is highest
