Casa de la Vall

Casa de la Vall is a historic stone manor in Andorra la Vella first constructed in 1580 and long used as the home of Andorra’s institutions. It is one of the oldest civil buildings in the principality and a symbol of local government continuity.

The building contains period rooms and the historic council chamber that illustrate the workings of the Consell General; visitors commonly view the assembly room and preserved interior features. The structure is compact and centrally located, so visits are brief and concentrated on the main ceremonial spaces.

Originally a private townhouse, it was acquired by Andorran authorities in the early 18th century and adapted for public use. Over the centuries the building retained its core 16th-century fabric while gaining decorative and administrative fittings aligned with its civic role.

The house stands in the old town of Andorra la Vella, on Plaça del Consell, within easy walking distance of the city centre and principal shopping streets.
