Campo de' Fiori

Campo de’ Fiori is a historic square in central Rome, named for the former meadow that occupied the site. It is a well-known urban market and social hub bounded by Renaissance and Baroque buildings.

A bronze statue of Giordano Bruno occupies the square’s centre and the open-air market sells produce, flowers and local goods each morning. Evenings see the square transform into a dining and nightlife focal point with nearby restaurants and bars.

Historically the site was an open field used for fairs and public events and later became a piazza surrounded by palazzi; it was also the location of public executions during earlier centuries, the most famous being the execution of Giordano Bruno in 1600. The modern appearance of the square reflects centuries of urban development and social life.

Campo de’ Fiori lies between Piazza Navona and the Jewish Ghetto area in central Rome, within easy walking distance of other major city attractions and served by multiple tram and bus routes.
