About Calabar Carnival#

The Calabar Carnival is a month-long urban celebration in Calabar, Nigeria that developed as a tourism and cultural showcase in the 2000s and has grown into one of West Africa’s largest street festivals. It brings together costumed troupes, music promoters, cultural groups and visiting performers for an extended showcase.

Calabar, Nigeria’s nearest airport is Margaret Ekpo International Airport, with domestic flights and occasional regional connections; many international visitors connect via Lagos or Abuja then fly onward to Calabar.
