Cable Beach is a long white-sand beach on the coast of Broome in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, stretching approximately 22 kilometres. It is widely known for its sunsets and for commercial camel rides along the sand.
The beach’s wide tidal flats, red sandstone cliffs at its northern end and long uninterrupted sand make it suited to walking, swimming where conditions permit and beach-based leisure; the camel rides operate along a typical stretch at sunset. Facilities and tourist services are concentrated close to Broome township.
The name derives from the late 19th-century landing of an undersea telegraph cable in the area, which linked Broome to international communications. In the 20th and 21st centuries the beach has become a major local tourism asset and symbol of Broome.
Cable Beach lies on the western side of Broome, in the Kimberley district of northern Western Australia, adjacent to the town and its hotels and resorts. The nearest urban services and accommodation are in Broome.

How to Get to Cable Beach #
Cable Beach is about 6 km west of Broome town centre; take Broome-Cape Leveque Road (Broome Highway) or local signage toward Cable Beach. There is roadside parking and local shuttle/charter services; the town is serviced by Broome Airport with flights from major Western Australian cities.
