Buley Rockhole is a series of natural rock pools and cascades within Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory. It is a popular day-use swimming and picnic spot featuring multiple shallow pools formed on a rocky creek.

The site comprises several stepped pools linked by small waterfalls where visitors swim, relax and picnic on rock ledges. The pools are reached by a short walk from a nearby car park and are managed as a visitor site within the national park.

Buley Rockhole sits inside Litchfield National Park, roughly 100 kilometres south of Darwin in tropical northern Australia. The site is accessed from the park’s internal roads and is close to other park attractions including Florence Falls and Wangi Falls.

• Best time to visit: Best visited in the dry season when pools are clear and swimming is safe; swimming may be unsafe during the wet season due to higher flows and presence of wildlife.
• Access: Short, well-formed walking tracks lead from the car park to a series of shallow rock pools and cascades that are suitable for wading and swimming.

From Darwin, drive roughly 100 km on the Stuart and Cox Peninsula roads, then follow signs to Litchfield National Park and Buley Rockhole. The site is well-signed within the park and a short walk from the car park.

• Buley Rockhole is best visited in the dry season (May-September) for safer rock-hopping and clearer pools.
• Arrive early in the morning to beat the Darwin-area tourists and to secure a good picnic spot.
• Wear water shoes-the pools and rocks can be slippery and sharp in places.
