How to Get to Brønnøysund#
Brønnøysund is best reached by the regional Brønnøysund Airport (BNN) on Widerøe routes or by coastal ferry services. Once there, local buses, taxis and ferries are the practical modes for moving around the archipelago and town.
Brønnøysund Airport, Brønnøy (BNN): The local airport has regional flights (including connections to Bodø and Trondheim via Widerøe). From the airport the town centre is only a short taxi or bus ride - about 5-10 minutes; taxi fares are modest and a local bus or shuttle can also connect to central Brønnøysund.
Bodø Airport (BOO): A larger regional hub with more frequent flights; Bodø to Brønnøysund is a longer trip by road or connecting regional flights and ferries and is less convenient than using Brønnøysund Airport for direct travel.
Train: There is no direct long-distance passenger rail to Brønnøysund - rail network in northern Norway is limited and travel is generally by air, road or coastal ferry.
Bus / Coach: Regional buses run along the Helgeland coast connecting Brønnøysund with neighbouring communities; travel times depend on origin but buses and coaches are a reliable land option. The Kystriksruta coastal ferry service also links Brønnøysund to other coastal towns.
