Bowen Falls is a waterfall at the head of Milford Sound / Piopiotahi in Fiordland National Park, Southland Region, New Zealand. It is one of the notable waterfalls in the fiord and is visible from the water and nearby viewing points.
The falls plunge roughly 162 metres down the fiord wall and are visible from vessels that travel the Sound; a short walking path from the Milford Sound wharf area also reaches a viewing point. Flow can vary with rainfall but the fall is fed year-round by streams draining the surrounding mountains.
The cascade is a natural stream descending the steep fiord cliffs and has been a fixed feature of the Milford Sound landscape since the fiord formed. It is commonly identified on maps and guides to Milford Sound as a frequent photo subject from boats and the wharf.
The falls sit at the inner end of Milford Sound, immediately adjacent to the visitor/boat wharf and parking area used by Milford Sound tour operators. The site is within Fiordland National Park on the South Island of New Zealand.
