Botucatu is best reached by long-distance bus from São Paulo or nearby regional centres; there is no practical long-distance passenger rail service. Buses run from Tietê terminal in São Paulo and from other interior cities.

By Air

São Paulo-Guarulhos (GRU): The major international gateway to São Paulo. From GRU, long-distance buses to Botucatu depart from Guarulhos or from São Paulo’s Tietê bus terminal (transfer needed). Total travel time to Botucatu by road/bus is usually 4-6 hours depending on traffic.
