The Borgia Apartments are a suite of decorated papal rooms in the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City, completed for Pope Alexander VI (Rodrigo Borgia) around the turn of the 16th century. They are noted for their Renaissance fresco cycles executed by Pinturicchio and his workshop.
Rooms feature an integrated program of religious and classical imagery painted in the 1490s and early 1500s, with decorative motifs and narrative scenes across vaulted ceilings and wall panels. The apartments are visited as part of the Vatican Museums route and are valued for their intact late 15th-century decoration rather than grand architectural scale.
Pope Alexander VI commissioned the decoration shortly after his election in 1492; Pinturicchio and assistants completed the work over the next decade. Subsequent popes used or adapted the rooms, and they were later incorporated into public museum displays.
The apartments occupy internal state rooms of the Apostolic Palace adjacent to other museum areas such as the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael Rooms, within Vatican City.

Take Rome Metro Line A to Ottaviano-San Pietro-Musei Vaticani (or to Cipro and walk). From Ottaviano it is an easy 5-10 minute walk along Via Ottaviano/Viale Vaticano to the entrance of the Vatican Museums; the Borgia Apartments are inside the Museums. By car the Vatican is only a few kilometres from central Rome (follow Via della Conciliazione toward St. Peter’s); parking is limited, so public transit is recommended.
