Bolcz Castle

Bolcz Castle (Zamek Bolczów) is a ruined medieval fortress located in the Rudawy Janowickie section of the Sudetes in Lower Silesia, Poland. The site occupies a rocky outcrop and is a regional destination for walkers and history visitors.

The main attraction is the ruined castle perched on sandstone cliffs with narrow passages and rock terraces that offer views over the surrounding forested valleys. Walkers follow woodland trails to the site and can inspect exposed masonry, carved steps and cliffside features that make the approach scenic and moderately demanding.

The fortress was constructed in the medieval period and expanded at various times in succeeding centuries before falling into disuse and ruin. It was modified and repaired over the centuries but did not survive intact into the modern era and today remains a conserved ruin.

Perched in the Rudawy Janowickie range of Lower Silesia, the castle lies near small mountain villages in the Janowice Wielkie area and is accessed from forest roads and footpaths within the Janowice/Komarno locality.
