The Berlin Spy Museum is a private museum in central Berlin focused on the history and practices of espionage. It opened in its current exhibition space in 2015 near Potsdamer Platz.
Exhibits cover spying from antiquity to modern digital surveillance, arranged with interactive stations, authentic artifacts and multimedia reconstructions that explore tradecraft, codebreaking and counterintelligence. A number of hands-on experiences simulate surveillance, disguise and cryptography, designed to illustrate methods rather than provide operational detail.
Founded by private operators to create a dedicated public exhibition on espionage, the museum assembled artifacts and replicas from multiple international lenders. It has developed rotating special exhibitions alongside its permanent chronological galleries since opening.
Situated in central Berlin near Potsdamer Platz in the Mitte district, the museum is a short walk from public transport hubs and other central attractions.
