Park Coastal national park protecting lakes and dunes in NSW
Coastal national park in southeastern New South Wales, renamed from Ben Boyd National Park. Visitors hike headlands, watch migrating whales, explore beaches and historic Ben Boyd era structures.
Beowa National Park is a coastal national park on the far south coast of New South Wales, Australia, renamed from Ben Boyd National Park in 2022. It protects a stretch of coastline, headlands and offshore islands near the town of Eden.
The park offers coastal scenery, beaches and a network of walking tracks along cliffs and dunes. It is noted for shoreline habitats and marine viewing opportunities rather than large alpine or rainforest terrain.
The area was originally designated under the name Ben Boyd National Park in recognition of the 19th-century entrepreneur Benjamin Boyd; the park name was changed to Beowa in the 2020s to reflect Indigenous place naming. Over time the reserve has been managed for conservation, recreation and protection of coastal landscapes.
Beowa National Park sits along Twofold Bay and the surrounding coastline near the township of Eden in southern New South Wales. The landscape is predominantly coastal - cliffs, sandy beaches and small offshore islands.
