Beckov Castle is a ruined medieval castle perched on a steep limestone cliff in Slovakia’s Trenčín Region above the village of Beckov. The ruin is a notable example of medieval defensive architecture dominating the local landscape.
Visitors approach along paths from the village to reach the cliff-top complex, where they can explore the ruined keep, fragments of curtain walls and a small chapel area. The site provides clear views across the Váh river valley and interpretation panels for the principal structures.
The castle has medieval origins and was expanded and altered across the Middle Ages; it fell into ruin after fire and neglect in the early modern period and later centuries. Conservation and stabilization works have made the ruins accessible to visitors.
