Barranyi (North Island) National Park is an island national park in Australia’s Northern Territory that protects coastal habitats, beaches and cultural sites. The park preserves natural coastal ecosystems and features typical island flora and fauna.
Visitors access the island by boat and the park is managed to protect both natural values and Aboriginal cultural heritage; facilities are minimal and visitation is generally low-density. Activities are oriented to walking, wildlife observation and beach use.
The park was declared to conserve the island’s natural and cultural values under Northern Territory protected-area arrangements and is managed by the Territory Parks and Wildlife agency in cooperation with traditional owners.
