How to Get to Badgingarra National Park #
Badgingarra National Park is on the agricultural/flowering plains north of Perth, Western Australia. By car from Perth the park area is reached by driving roughly 200-220 km north on Brand Highway (National Route 1) toward the town of Badgingarra, then following local roads and park turnoffs from the town. There is no rail service; allow several hours driving from Perth and then short walks on park tracks from the access points.
Tips for Visiting Badgingarra National Park #
- Plan your visit during the wildflower season (late winter to early spring, roughly August-September) when the kwongan heath blooms and short walks through the reserve are at their most colourful.
- Enter via the Badgingarra town turn-off off Brand Highway and use the marked picnic/parking areas as starting points-these give immediate access to the main wildflower viewing tracks without driving on unsealed station tracks.
- Most visitors focus on the roadside displays; walk the short walking trails that extend from the picnic areas into the interior heath for more diverse wildflower species and quieter birdwatching.
- Visit early in the morning to avoid peak heat and to catch pollinators and birds at their most active, and check local gov/DPaW alerts for seasonal track closures after heavy rains.
