Aviva Stadium is a purpose-built sports stadium in the Ballsbridge district of Dublin, Ireland, opened in 2010 on the site of the former Lansdowne Road. It is the national venue for Rugby Union and also hosts association football internationals and concerts.
The bowl holds about 51,700 spectators and features a two-tier stand arrangement with corporate facilities and hospitality suites. The stadium is configured to host both rugby and football, and its transparent roof and seating layout give relatively close sightlines to the pitch.
The stadium was developed to replace the old Lansdowne Road ground and was designed by the architectural teams that included Populous and Scott Tallon Walker. Construction finished in 2010 and the stadium has been the home venue for Ireland rugby and the Republic of Ireland football team since opening.
Aviva Stadium stands in Ballsbridge, roughly south-east of Dublin city centre, adjacent to Lansdowne Road and within walking distance of central Dublin. The site is near the River Dodder and is well connected by the coastal DART rail line.

The stadium is a short walk from the city centre. Use the DART to Lansdowne Road station (one stop from Pearse Street) or the Luas tram to St. Stephen’s Green and walk ten minutes. On matchdays extra trains and services run.
