How to Get to Araucária
Araucária is part of the Curitiba metro area and is most conveniently reached via Afonso Pena Airport (CWB) in Curitiba, with onward travel by car or bus. The region depends on an extensive bus network rather than commuter rail for local and regional trips.
Afonso Pena International Airport, Curitiba (CWB): CWB is the main airport serving Araucária and the greater Curitiba metropolitan area. From CWB to Araucária the drive is roughly 20-40 minutes depending on traffic; taxis and app-based rides cost around R$40-R$100. There are also buses from the airport to Curitiba, where you can transfer to municipal or regional buses to Araucária.
São Paulo airports (GRU/CGH) via bus or air connections: International travellers commonly connect through São Paulo; from São Paulo you can travel by long-distance bus or fly into CWB and continue by road. Road travel times vary widely by route and traffic.
Train: There is no regular commuter rail serving Araucária; the Curitiba metropolitan area relies on buses for public transport rather than a heavy rail network.
