Arapaoa Island is an island in the Marlborough Sounds in the north-eastern part of New Zealand’s South Island, within Marlborough District. It forms part of the complex coastline of sheltered bays, channels and peninsulas that characterise the Sounds.
The island’s coastline offers sheltered anchorages, bush-clad hills and a mixture of farmland and native vegetation; tracks and informal routes provide access to viewpoints and bays. It is used for recreational boating, walking and wildlife observation rather than dense settlement.
