Anif Palace

Anif Palace (Schloss Anif) is a small historic palace near the village of Anif, just south of the city of Salzburg in Austria. The building’s present romantic appearance dates largely to 19th-century renovations carried out on an earlier fortified site.

Visitors encounter a compact castle-like building with towers and ornamental roofs set close to water and parkland, making it a photogenic example of 19th-century historicist architecture. The palace sits close to local roads and is visible from surrounding lanes rather than being a museum with regular public access.

Anif Palace occupies a site with earlier medieval and early modern structures; the current picturesque form was produced by 19th-century rebuilding in a historicist style. It has been used as a private residence and landmark since its renovation.

The palace stands in the municipality of Anif, a short distance south of Salzburg city, in the state of Salzburg. It lies near low-lying river meadows and is easily seen from the local road network south of the city.
