How to Get to Angoulême

Angoulême has a TGV/TER-served railway station with fast connections to Paris and Bordeaux, making rail the simplest way to arrive from major French cities. Regional airports provide secondary options with onward rail or coach connections.

By Air

Bordeaux-Mérignac (BOD): The closest major international airport (about 120 km). From Bordeaux you can take a train to Angoulême (direct TER or TGV services) in roughly 1-1.5 hours; from the station in Angoulême it’s a short local taxi or bus ride into the city centre.

Limoges-Bellegarde (LIG): Closer for some routes and with regional flights; from Limoges you can take a regional train or coach to Angoulême with journey times typically around 1-2 hours depending on routing.
