Allianz Riviera is a multi-purpose stadium on the western side of Nice in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France, opened in the early 2010s. It serves as the home stadium for OGC Nice and as a regional venue for sport and entertainment.
The venue offers a covered spectator bowl seating approximately 35,000 to 36,000 people, corporate and hospitality suites, and facilities configured for both football and large concerts. It was one of the newer French stadiums used around the time of UEFA Euro 2016.
Built as a modern replacement for older local facilities, the stadium was completed in the 2010s to provide a contemporary, multi-use venue for the Côte d’Azur region. Since opening it has hosted domestic football, occasional international fixtures and non-sporting events.
Located on the western outskirts of Nice near the Saint-Isidore area, the stadium lies within the Nice metropolitan area and is connected by road and public transport to the city centre.

How to Get to Allianz Riviera #
Allianz Riviera is in the west of Nice (Saint-Isidore/Lingostière area), about 8-10 km from Nice city centre. Take Nice tramway Line 2 to the stadium stop (Allianz Riviera); from that tram stop the stadium is a few minutes’ walk. By car access is from the A8 motorway or the local ring roads; driving from central Nice typically takes 15-25 minutes depending on traffic.
Tips for Visiting Allianz Riviera #
- For matches or concerts, use the official shuttle services or public transport from Nice city center rather than driving; parking around the stadium is limited and traffic can be severe before/after events.
- If attending a major event, book parking or shuttle places in advance and allow extra time for security checks and exiting the site - queues after events can be lengthy.
- Check the stadium's official site for guided tours or open events outside match days; these are the best way to see interior areas that casual passersby miss.
