Aller (Germany)

The Aller is a principal river in northern Germany running across Lower Saxony to join the Weser. It has long been an important regional watercourse and is associated with several historic towns along its banks.

The river corridor offers boating, canoeing and long-distance cycling routes that follow the valley through mixed agricultural and wetland landscapes. Floodplain meadows and riparian woodlands along the Aller are notable for birdwatching and seasonal wildlife.
