Albristhorn
Mountain Swiss Alpine peak offering panoramic Bernese views
Albristhorn rises above alpine valleys in the Canton of Bern; hikers and ski-tourers use its trails and ridgelines for summit views across the Bernese Alps.
Albristhorn is a mountain in the Bernese Oberland of the Canton of Bern, Switzerland, rising to 2762 metres. It forms part of the range between the Simmental and the Engstligen valleys.
Marked alpine trails lead to the summit from nearby valleys; the ascent is a popular summer hike offering alpine meadows and rocky ridgelines rather than technical climbing. From the top there are broad views across the Bernese Alps and toward adjoining peaks.
The Albristhorn is a natural feature rather than a constructed site and has been used traditionally for summer grazing and alpine pastures. Trail networks developed over the 19th and 20th centuries to support hiking and local access.
