Adolphe Bridge (Pont Adolphe) is an early 20th-century arch bridge in Luxembourg City that links the Ville Haute and Gare districts. Constructed between 1900 and 1903 and named for Grand Duke Adolphe, it has become an emblematic city structure.
The bridge features a large central stone arch flanked by two smaller arches and carries vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the Pétrusse valley. It provides panoramic views over the Grund neighborhood and the river valley below and is frequently photographed from the Corniche.
Built to improve connections between the city center and the railway station, the masonry arch design retained its historic appearance through later reinforcement and modernization efforts. It remains both a functional traffic link and a prominent urban landmark.
Located in central Luxembourg City, it carries Boulevard Royal across the Pétrusse valley toward the Gare district, with pedestrian access and viewpoints from adjacent promenades.
- Central span: The bridge's large central arch spans roughly 84 meters and is the structure's defining feature.
- Best viewpoints: The Corniche promenade and the Grund neighborhood offer the best photographic and panoramic views down into the Pétrusse valley.
