Ada Bojana is a triangular river island at the mouth of the Bojana River on Montenegro’s southern coast, formed by river sediment and tidal processes. The island is known for its long sandy beaches, beach resorts and outdoor water sports.
The shoreline is popular with wind- and kitesurfers because of reliable winds in the bay, and parts of the island have been developed as small hospitality and camping areas. A section of the main beach is traditionally frequented by naturists.
Ada Bojana lies close to the coastal town of Ulcinj and near the border with Albania, making it one of Montenegro’s southernmost coastal attractions. Access is by road via the mainland causeway that links the island to the coast.

How to Get to Ada Bojana #
Ada Bojana is a river island/sandbar at the mouth of the Bojana (Buna) River on Montenegro’s southern coast. The island is reached by road from the nearby town of Ulcinj via the bridge over the river; from Ulcinj it is a short drive (typically under an hour) south to the Ada Bojana access road and parking, then on-foot access to the beach areas.

- Arrive in late afternoon for softer light, calmer winds and the chance to watch kitesurfers; if you're planning to kite, mornings and late afternoons typically offer the strongest wind.
- Cross the short bridge from the mainland at the single access point and plan logistics in advance-parking and services are concentrated at the arrival side.
- Choose the eastern side of the island for a family-friendly beach and the western shore if you expect the traditional clothing-optional/nudist stretches.
