Santa Cruz in the Colchagua Valley is most commonly reached from Santiago by intercity bus or private car. There is no direct passenger rail service into town; local buses and taxis connect nearby rail hubs and neighbouring towns.
Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL): The main international airport for central Chile. Santa Cruz (Colchagua) is best reached from Santiago by road: intercity buses from Santiago to Santa Cruz take about 2.5-3.5 hours and cost roughly CLP 6,000-12,000. Private transfers are also common (2.5-3 hours, higher cost).
Local airfields: There are no major commercial airports in the immediate Santa Cruz area; visitors fly into Santiago and continue by bus or car.
Train: Passenger rail service in central Chile is focused on Santiago corridors; there is no direct passenger rail into Santa Cruz. Nearest rail hubs are Rancagua and San Fernando; from those towns take a local bus or taxi to Santa Cruz (30-60 minutes).

- Local bus / colectivo (CLP 500-2,500) - Local buses and colectivos connect Santa Cruz to neighbouring villages and rail hubs such as San Fernando. They’re cheap but may not run frequently; confirm times locally, especially on weekends and holidays.
- Bicycle (Variable) - For short distances around the valley and between nearby vineyards, cycling can be pleasant in cooler months. Distances can be long and routes hilly - e‑bikes or guided cycling tours are a good option for casual visitors.
- Walking - Santa Cruz’s centre is compact and easily explored on foot - plazas, markets and wine tour pickup points are close together. Walking is the best way to experience the town itself.
