Pantai Trikora Travel Guide

Pantai Trikora is the most popular beach on the eastern coast of Bintan Island, which is part of the Riau Archipelago. Although it’s a bit remote, Trikora is a real beauty and has a dose of local culture to go with its lovely beach.

Locals love to come to Trikora for a quick getaway because the sand and sea are simply beautiful. Trikora is also somewhat isolated, giving visitors a sense of being far away from the bustle of urban life. Yet despite its isolation, there is plenty of accommodation, from simple bungalows to luxury resorts.

Apart from the beach, there is a charming traditional fishing village next door. Here you can wander around and see how the people of Bintan Island get on. Also nearby is a fascinating boat building shop, where they still craft traditional boats in the old style.

Getting There & Away

Bintan Island is accessible from Batam, Johor Bahru, or Singapore. There is a small airport outside of Tanjung Pinang that services a few regional flights. But most people arrive by ferry to the main port of Tanjung Pinang from Singapore (2 hours). Once on Bintan, it’s easy to hire a taxi or catch the local bus to Trikora Beach.
