About the Nan Riverside Gallery#
The Nan Riverside Gallery is an interesting and unique art gallery in an attractive setting on the banks of the Nan River, about 20km north of Nan town, with two exhibition halls of temporary and permanent works.
It was set up by one of Thailand’s most renowned artists, Winai Prabripoo, in what was originally his house. He later enlarged it and decided to display some of his own works along with those of other Thai contemporary artists. One building holds paintings and the other photographs. Most of the paintings are for sale, apart from two by master contemporary artist Somphob Butraraj, entitled Angel 1 and Angel 2.
The décor is itself of interest, with all sorts of odds and ends mounted on the walls and ceilings, including a very large basket. There’s also a souvenir shop on site.
