Istria Travel Guide

Region

A green, heart-shaped peninsula at the top of the Adriatic, part Italian in feel. Rovinj and Poreč are pretty Venetian ports, Pula has a huge Roman amphitheatre, and the hill towns of Motovun and Grožnjan are known for truffles, olive oil and wine. Spring and September are ideal; July and August are busy.
