Situated just up from the Palawan capital in Central Palawan, Honda Bay is a gorgeous long, white bay with loads of beaches and islets which is a great retreat for swimming and snorkeling.

Honda Bay is not far from Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park.

Honda Bay is only 30 minutes or so by boat from Puerto Princesa and is one of numerous small islets and reefs begging to be dived on. The diving goes down to around 25m and snorkelers will also have a good time just below the surface. The best diving within Palawan is the World Heritage Tubbataha Reef Marine Park.

Cowrie and Bat are two of the most popular tourist destinations in Honda Bay. They take their name from the large fruit bats that live here. Snake Island, with its long tongue of white sand is also popular, as are Canon, Pandan, and Lu-Ii islands. Those into starfish should check out Starfish Island, where there is also a decent amount of accommodation.

Travel to Honda Bay - Getting There

Flights to Puerto Princesa Airport from Manila take an hour and depart frequently. You can also get here from other major airports in the Philippines, including from Davao and Cebu City. Ferries from Manila to Puerto Princesa take about 22 hours. The wharf for trips to Honda Bay proper is a 25-minute drive byjeepney from the airport.
