Hoa Lư Ancient Capital (Ninh Bình) is about 90-100 km south of Hanoi. From Hanoi you can drive or take a tourist bus along National Highway 1A (or the newer expressways), a trip of roughly 2-2.5 hours by car/coach. Trains run from Hanoi to Ninh Binh city (about 2 hours); from Ninh Binh station or the city center it’s a short taxi or local-bus ride of around 10-15 minutes (roughly 7-10 km) to the Hoa Lư historic site.
