Grand-Gaube is a relaxed northern coastal village in Mauritius, known for its long bay and easy access to nearby islets. The calm water and reefs make it a popular base for snorkeling and short boat trips while staying close to other parts of Mauritius Island.
Many of the main draws are on the water. Amber Island is a small Mauritian island near the northeast coast, while Île Ronde is a small Mauritian islet with coastal wildlife. For protected nature, Île aux Aigrettes is a small islet off Mauritius set aside as an endemic species reserve. Inland, Ganga Talao is a crater lake and Hindu pilgrimage site in Mauritius, and Trou aux Cerfs is a dormant volcanic crater with a public lookout in Curepipe.
