Cuyo Travel Guide
Cuyo Island is located within an archipelago of the same name. It is the most developed of all 40 islands within the archipelago and one of the most beautiful.
The island is home to Cuyo Town, the capital of all of the islands, and just offshore lie some of the most impressive coral reefs in the Philippines. Most people arrive on the island to take advantage of the golden sand, good weather, inviting waters and dive sites close by. However, there is also the chance to enjoy bird watching as well as hiking through the forests which are found inland.
There is accommodation available here although most people arrive on a daytrip from Palawan. The island’s remote location has ensured that it does not attract hordes of tourists, allowing the natural beauty to shine through. It is quiet, beautiful and undeveloped; intrepid travelers could ask for nothing more.
Getting There & Away
Puerto Princesa on Palawan is home to the nearest domestic airport and is less than an hour by air from Manila. Alternatively, Palawan is 12 hours away from Cuyo by slow boat. It is also possible to take a boat from any island within the archipelago and daytrips around all of the islands are available.
